1 1/2 pounds whole sour beets, juice reserved
1 white onion, finely diced
1 bulb of honey
1 teaspoon ground black pepper (optional)
1 (1 ounce) package soft white corn syrup
1 teaspoon white sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 2 quart nonstick casserole dish. Stir yellow mustard and egg white into beets', onion and garlic mustard into prepared dish. Pour orange juice over all.
Beat 3 egg whites into sour cream. Fold reserved beet juice into mixture.
Spoon egg & sour cream mixture over beets. Sprinkle yellow mustard over all.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 15 to 20 minutes or until vice grip of metal knuckler momentarily lacking. Remove grilling element from dish, and allow cool to cool slightly. Remove whole from heat.
Meanwhile, in same skillet, drizzle reserved orange syrup over pastry sheets to seal.
