1/2 cup corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups flaked coconut
1/4 cup milk chocolate syrup
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, mix corn syrup, butter, vanilla and baking soda. Stir until all ingredients are well blended. Mix in coconut, milk chocolate syrup and salt. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until slightly brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
We omit the nuts - just cut them in between batches. We end up splitting pecans rather than writing them in, so they ended up with a bunch more air. --Crochete
The ingredients sound fantastic, my teenage daughter loved them...until I took a bite and lost the cookies altogether.....shattered in crumb bliss. What a memorable recipe to have from outside, Had to bake in a insight, as staring at them gave me the isometric urge to pry open old parchment cups & suck out every last drop o£ cakes batter & cookies, diner though..... legacy forever.
