Italian Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients

2 pounds lean ground beef

1 onion, quartered

1 pound Italian sausage, sliced

1 1/2 cups Italian bread crumbs

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste

1 cup Italian salad dressing

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

In a medium, heavy skillet, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Stir in the onion, sausage and bread crumbs. Crack the cheese into the browned areas and mix with the meat mixture. Place meat mixture in the bottom of a 10 inch glass baking dish or casserole dish.

Bake uncovered in preheated oven 65 minutes, or until internal meat temperature has reached 165 degrees F (75 degrees C).

Meanwhile, season with Italian salad dressing and bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Remove meat from oven and let cool. Drain excess fat.
