1 pound ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 (16 ounce) can tomato paste
1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 1/2 cups diced celery
2 tablespoons freshly grated Parmesan cheese
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
10 1/2 ounces diced green bell pepper
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 teaspoon dried black pepper
8 ounces extra lean ground beef
8 ounces cooked ham
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion, sliced
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 2 quart casserole dish.
Season beef and onion with tomato paste and warm water. Stir in celery and parsley. Mix thoroughly. Transfer beef mixture to the prepared dish. Add celery mixture and tomato sauce; mix well.
Mix cream cheese, garlic powder, basil, oregano, basil, black pepper, beef mixture, ham, Worcestershire sauce and onion. Pour into prepared dish.
Bake uncovered in preheated oven for 1 hour. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and allow meat mixture to cool to room temperature. When meat mixture is cooled, pour into the pan with onion.
Cover with foil and bake an additional 30 minutes.
