Basil and Cheese Steak Recipe

Ingredients

1 (4 ounce) can sliced mushrooms

2 tablespoons dried minced onion

3 teaspoons boneless pepper flakes

1/8 teaspoon dried oregano

2 tablespoons dried basil

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme, chopped

8 ounces frozen chopped spinach, thawed

1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

3 tablespoons margarine

Directions

Place mushrooms and onion in a small bowl. Mix in pepper flakes, oregano, basil and thyme; set aside.

Dredge the mushrooms in butter or margarine. Sprinkle the mushrooms with cheese, then pepper over the cheese cheese mixture.

In a large skillet, saute the mushrooms and onions in the margarine mixture until cooked. Drain well, stir in spinach, then blend the mozzarella and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt, pepper and garlic powder.

Bake for 45 minutes in preheated oven, stirring frequently. Transfer the steaks to a platter.

Remove steaks from pan, place 1/2 inch apart onto a serving platter. Spread mushroom mixture over steaks, then top steaks with the mozzarella, cheese and Worcestershire sauce. Repeat with remaining steaks.

Good starting point. I used Stevia powder instead of table sugar. This helped tremendously. Also did 1/2 cup raisins in bag. Scrumptious!
