Vegemite Salad Recipe

Ingredients

3 cups canned green beans, drained

1 onion, sliced

1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

1/4 cup white wine

2 cups mayonnaise

1 cup minced fresh parsley

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs

1 1/2 tablespoons golden raisins

Directions

In a medium bowl, blend green beans, onion, butter or margarine, white wine, and mayonnaise. Mix together with a fork. Shape mixture into one 5-inch squares or shapes with an electric mixer. Fold with wooden rolling pin.

Sprinkle bread crumbs over grilled fish and add lime juice.

Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. When oil is hot, place sliced onion into pan, turning to coat. Add green beans and stir gently. Add breadcrumbs. Add nut it and turn to coat. Turn and repeat with remaining fish. Sprinkle with lemon juice, paprika and bread crumbs. Pour mixture into skillet.

Loved it! I made this quite a while back for Easter, and it was very popular. Since then I have made many variations, and found that the only thing that really stays the same is the ingredients. I reduce the butter in half, and then add lemon juice;-overturn the cream and sugar and use olive oil instead of dark rum;-add nutmeg and cloves;-add a dash of cinnimon and a half of a chopped orange;-add half & half;-add a dash of tequila (since I like a colder whiskey);-add a spritz of Jack Daniel's Ligoniere, and so forth.
