6 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 cup dry white wine
1/2 cup milk
1 (1 ounce) package dry onion soup mix
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Combine potatoes, butter, and wine in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil. Boil 5 minutes to soften and cook. Stir in milk, onion soup mix, and sour cream. Heat through and stir in Cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
