1 egg white
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a large bowl, cream together the egg white and shortening. Combine the flour, salt and baking powder, stir into the creamed mixture. Then stir in the oats, chocolate chips, pecans, cookies and nuts. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 11 to 13 minutes in the preheated oven, until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 1 minute on the baking sheet before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
