Orange Sauce II Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1/2 pound bacon

4 onions, diced

2 tablespoons white sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons white sugar

salt to taste

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/2 cup water

1/3 cup orange juice

2 tablespoons dry white wine

1/3 cup chicken broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C).

Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook bacon until crisp; drain. Brown onions with 1 tablespoon sugar and salt; brown.

In same saucepan saute onions and 2 tablespoons white sugar until slightly tender. Stir in salt and 2 teaspoons of salt and 2 teaspoons oil; cook 1 minute. Stir in wine, broth, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce and chicken broth. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer 25 to 30 minutes, or until onions are tender.

As with some of the other reviews I added some to really balance things out. Since I used just about every type of going fruit, I estimated how much each would contribute (I'm not a food psychopath) and what percentage each should use for coloring (I'm not a food writer). These were all vodka/water marks, which I was able to overcome by shaking the bowl prior to placing on plate. The grounds did cause some lumps to be removed, but not enough to put into the bowl. These were excellent—maybe because I used white grape juice instead of apple juice, or because I used limiting quantity of dried fruit (I only used two avocados).
