1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup milk
4 egg yolks
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons ground cloves
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
3/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, flour, salt and sugar until smooth. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until incorporated.
In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks and lemon juice. Whisk the mixture into the creamed mixture, adding 1/2 cup at a time, until the mixture forms a ball. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto baking sheet and bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
Melt 1/4 cup of milk in a small saucepan over medium heat; stir until smooth. Remove from oven and drizzle remaining milk on top of cake. Sprinkle top with remaining 1/2 cup of milk, and sprinkle with cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla. Let sit 20 minutes before serving.
