1 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 (16 ounce) bottle cola-flavored carbonated beverage
1 (1 ounce) square unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 tablespoon heavy cream
1 cup confectioners' sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a medium mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, melted butter or margarine, and 3/4 cup of sugar, just until blended. Spread half of the mixture evenly onto the bottom of a 9 inch cake pan. Sprinkle half of the chocolate over the brown mixture, and layer the remaining chocolate over that.
Bake the cake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes before frosting.
Mix together cola soda and cream in a medium mixing bowl. Spread over cooled cake, and arrange confectioners sugar over top cake layer. Using a melon ball, pat the confectioners sugar over the cake. Watch Now
