1 (4 pound) whole chicken
6 slices bacon
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Place bacon in a large skillet. Cook over medium heat until crisp. Drain bacon, reserving about 1/4 cup for drippings. Remove the chicken, let dry, and cut into thin strips. Salt and pepper to taste.
Slice chopped onion into thin strips. Season with salt and pepper. Place saute in skillet over medium heat until evenly browned and crisp. In a small bowl, combine bacon drippings, Worcestershire sauce and thyme and mix until thickened. Place duck breast in a shallow baking dish.
Bake uncovered at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 40 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through but not falling off bones.
