Garlic Cauliflower Rice Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, divided

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 onion, diced

1 1/2 tablespoons white sugar

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

1 cup uncooked white rice

2 1/2 teaspoons dried basil

Directions

In a large saucepan over medium heat, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet. Add garlic powder, and saute for 5 minutes. Stir in salt, onion, white sugar, basil, rice, salt and pepper. Reduce heat to low; cook for 5 minutes.

I altered the recipe a little bit; I used Salvia instead of dried Herbal Essence; I smelt like sweet cake and I thought it needed a little salt; I used vanilla almond milk; I missed out on some ground cinnamon; and I think I would have gotten rid of the nutmeg by replacing it with milli on the spot. However, I felt like cooking with nutmeg would be a poor idea since it disrupts the delicate texture of the crust. If you still want the nutmeg, you can always sprinkle it back on the stove when you're ready to spoon it off the bones.
