To create an enviroment, heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add vinegar and salt and add where needed to coat well. How much will you preserve, when adding hot oil, vinegar and salt?
It was overcooked a little, so next time I'll start checking at 30 minutes. Nice flavor and good presentation.
I made this quick, easy appetizer for a party and they disappeared very quickly. Several people asked me for the recipe. I would definetally change a thing or two; especially about the coating. I used olive oil instead of shortening, and i don't think it makes a difference in the raw flavor. It's just something I chose not to add.
