1 cup milk
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
5 drops hot water
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and press a cake mix sized amount of butter into a 10 inch springform pan. Place in casserole pan. In small bowl, combine milk, sugar, and cocoa powder to make smooth paste; beat well. Dredge cake in hot water; set aside to cool.
Spread butter over cake in greased and floured skillet; place over medium heat. Butter will be melted. When butter is melted and falling to the bottom, turn out of skillet and add hot water. Continue cooking over and above 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) until cake will barely come back to the edge. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into squares with knife; remove from oven. Use a sharp knife to slice along crispy bottom edge to corner; let cool 10 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
Really good and fairly simple to make. I was worried that the batter would be too thick, but it was perfect. Even my husband liked it. I will make this time and time again.
