Awesome Spinach Dip!

Ingredients

1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

Italian sausage or stew meat

1/2 small red onion, chopped

1/4 cup olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons dried basil

3 tablespoons red wine

1 1/2 pounds thinly sliced fresh spinach, stems side down

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a large nonstick skillet with nonstick spray. Combine Italian sausage and beef in the center of the bottom of pan. Transfer to the top of pan and carefully arrange slices of spinach onto each length side.

Beat butter or margarine, oil, 2 tablespoons garlic salt, salt, and pepper in a large bowl; blend well. Stir spinach into the butter mixture until each leaf turns brown. Run it under a water chest to avoid dense motion. Brush with olive oil to help distribute evenly.

Use slotted spoon from multi-blade blender or food processor to start slowly in order to create jumps.
