1/2 cup dark corn syrup
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon lemon peel
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
3 tablespoons non-fat shortening
1 cup water
1 (3 ounce) package frozen chopped cranberries
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine corn syrup, water, lemon juice, lemon peel, celery salt and salt and pepper. bring to a boil and then remove from heat. Transfer mixture to a bowl and stir in the 2 cups of water, 1 tablespoon of oil and 2 tablespoons of water. Season mixture to taste and serve.
