1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 (15 ounce) can sweetened chocolate syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda and almond extract. Beat in the eggs and milk, then mix into the creamed mixture. Combine the chocolate syrup, salt and eggs; mix into the creamed mixture. Fold in the vanilla extract. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls. Place the cookies 3 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until lightly browned. Lower the cookie sheets to cool on a wire rack. Roll the cookies out to 1/4 inch thickness using a serrated knife or pastry blender.
