Dedication Cake II Recipe

Ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix

3 cups vegetable oil for deep frying

3 cups white sugar

2 eggs, beaten

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon almond extract

1 1/2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal

1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) round baking pans.

Beat together cake mix, oil, and sugar until well blended. Stir together egg, vanilla extract, almond extract, cornflake sugar, pecans, oil and sugar. Stir until well blended. Pour batter into prepared pans.

Fry quarter-size crepes in hot oil until golden and crisp, about 2 minutes. Drain on paper towels and serve hot out of dish.

I followed this recipe exactly: half marinated, half fried, kept cool. I didn't measure anything, so LOL. Amount of sauce: one can't go wrong.
