2 1/2 cups butter
2 1/2 cups white sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/8 cup packed brown sugar
3/8 cup packed light brown sugar
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Beat in the vanilla and baking soda. Stir in the flour, baking powder, brown sugar and light brown sugar. Mix in the lemon juice and pecans. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until tops are golden brown. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
