Luisa's Double Cheeseburger Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef

1 small onion, minced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

2 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

8 hamburger buns, cut into thin strips

6 slices Swiss cheese

1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste

4 hamburger size onions, cut into strips

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1 cup chopped fresh parsley

Directions

Heat basting pan with olive oil in medium size pot (some ovens can be hot, so you would want to set aside 2 to 3 hours).

While the meat and vegetables are cooking, in a large bowl combine the beef, onion, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and hamburgers. Mix in filling, tomato sauce, cheese, mushrooms, cheese, cheese, bacon and onions. Whisk well. Transfer mixture into the basting pan.

Preheat the oven broiler. Spread a drizzle of tomato paste over the bread dough assembly and top with mozzarella cheese. Place the sandwich on a large baking sheet and broil 5 minutes in the preheated oven.

Preheat the broiler. Broil uncovered in the preheated oven 15 to 20 minutes. Check after 20 minutes for golden brown spots. Remove from pan, make a small dent in the top of the sandwich using a knife, and place in the toast pan. Brush with tomato jelly. Let cool 10 minutes, then press sandwich into the center of the pan to prevent sticking and browning too quickly.
