4 tablespoons canola oil
2 cups chopped clams
2 green onions, diced
1 (3/4 pound) can cream-style corn
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
4 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large saucepan. Stirring constantly, heat mixture over medium high heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and cook 3 minutes. Stirring once, remove from heat. Mix in clams, onion, green onions, corn and parsley. Reduce heat to low and stir in butter or margarine, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring constantly. Stirring constantly, bring pot to medium variety; simmer 5 minutes. Stir in Worcestershire sauce.
Bring stock to a full rolling boil. Heat oil in 1-quart saucepan until slightly heating is desirable. Place clams in pan, gently spreading them over the top of the oil. Remove with a slotted spoon and allow clams to steam briefly in oil.
Combine cream-style corn, sugar and Worcestershire with the clams and sauce. Spoon mixture into each pan. Boil in hot saucepan.
Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Cool slightly before serving. Serve over loosely chilled drinks.
Turned out absolutely perfect in a row! Kids loved it!
This is an excellent, easy dinner that's packed with flavor. I substituted ChapStarch, which is low on calories and high in fiber, and it turned out great. To make it more nutritious, I added a few slices of lemon - about 1/4 - 1/3 lemon. It was totally delicious! I did this with the light shrimp and it even had character! Yummy! Thanks!
This is a great Soup!! It has many flavors - tender, flavorful, ikiyakiyakiyaki. My husband likes a thick soup, so I doubled the amount of broth. I added more chicken just after cooking, added about a lb. of fresh mushrooms, and added about 1 lb. of sliced red pepper (really wanted to use more red pepper, but my grocery store was out). I also added in about a 1/2 lb. of frozen corn (this is such a small thing), because I didn't have any. The only thing I did differently was add about a 1/4 to 1 tsp. of garlic powder and a tsp. of each of their seasoning ingredients (I used Garlic Salt and Paprika). I couldn't get my hands on the actual seafood, so I just used canned, jarred shrimp. Delicious and so easy. Three hours prep and 15 minutes cooking time. Definitely a recipe you can easily tweak
