Orange Moon Cake Recipe


1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix

1 (3 ounce) package instant orange flavored Jell-O

1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained

1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 (3 ounce) package instant strawberry pudding mix

6 egg whites

1 3/4 cups milk

2 tablespoons water


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.

In a large bowl, mix cake mix and gelatin. Stir in the crushed pineapple and pudding mix. Mix the gelatin mixture with the milk. Pour batter into prepared pans.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Frost with Frosting Fruit Frosting with Fruit Filling:

Fruit fruit preserves, strawberries and oranges

Ripe fruits (e.g. cherries)

Ripe bananas

In a large bowl, stir together the cake mix and gelatin until well blended.

Pour half of the gelatin mixture into the bottom of a plastic or glass serving bowl, and attach the half of the fruit filling for a horizontal spoon or finger to support the shape; stir together.

Pour the remaining mixture into the pan and frost with fruit filling. Let cool in refrigerator for one hour. Refrigerate remaining fruit frosting.
