1/2 small onion, thinly sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans or water
2 cups ketchup
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
paprika to taste
1/4 teaspoon dried basil
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Place the onion and garlic in a large heavy skillet and saute over medium heat until the onion is translucent. Stir in the kidney beans, ketchup, vinegar, salt, parsley, oregano, paprika, cayenne, salt, parsley, oregano, paprika, cayenne, salt, parsley, oregano, paprika, cayenne and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring all the time, until the onion is tender. Remove from heat and stir in the olive oil. Mix well and spread mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 50 minutes.
