Bodied Hummus Recipe

Ingredients

1 teaspoon dried rosemary

3/4 pound small croutons

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

1/4 cup chopped cooked garbanzo beans

2 tablespoons margarine, softened

2 cups Italian-style red wine

1/4 cup crumbled bacon

salt to taste

Directions

Place olive oil in a large saucepan and pour in crushed whole croutons. Stir together cooking oil and lemon juice, and saute until brown. Continue pouring oil and lemon juice into pan; bring to a boil.

Lower heat, cover and simmer, simmering until almost boiling, 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, saute ground pepper until tender. Stir in garbanzo beans, marinade and wine. Simmer for 1 hour, or until tender. Incorporate the bacon, salt, pepper and vinegar; simmer five minutes more.

What a great way to make a whole chicken and other veggies. It didn't take long to make. I was worried that my husband might be upset with me because he doesn't like red meat, but he said he wasn't going to complain. My husband got all plump looking and fat looking. I didn't know how to make it, so I just left it as is and let the flavors be. I was scared of how it would taste, so I waited until I made it and added salt, pepper, and a little garlic powder. It was good, but not really what I expected.

I followed the recipe exactly making no changes and these were amazing--reminded me of summer---I made weighty stuffed mushrooms, asked for 5gr of minced garlic, asked for 1/2 tsp of dried tarragon, 1/2 tsp of thyme, 1/2 tsp of cumin, threw in another pound of minced garlic, called it a night. These were perfect--fattening, nutritious, and silly.

AWESOME! This cake was baked for me for my birthday, so I am not sure if I'll ever make it again, but I will make it somewhere along the lines listed below. It is so rich and moist, and the orange liqueur adds a nice flavor. Even my hubby asked for it again. Loved it!
