4 cups white sugar
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
3 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease two 9x5 inch loaf pan loaf pans.
In a large bowl, cream together the sugar, flour and milk until smooth. Beat in the eggs, one at a time using a wooden spoon, beating well after each one. Mix in baking powder, salt and vanilla. Stir things to the mixture until well blended. Fold in the lemon juice. Pour batter into prepared pans.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of one loaf comes out clean. Flip upside down and baking uncovered for an additional 15 minutes.
