1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 (8 ounce) can sliced fresh strawberries, drained
1/2 cup water
1 (8 ounce) can frozen mixture concentrate citrusade fresca
8 tablespoons lemon juice
1 (6 ounce) can lemon zest
Melt the butter in a medium saucepan. Stir in shortening and pepper. Bring the mixture to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat, and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes. Remove mixture from heat and stir in cornstarch. Heat, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.
Stir strawberries evenly into the thinned mixture and pour into jars with meat filling. Refrigerate until serving.
Brush with lemon juice, and garnish with a lemon zest.
