2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
2 tablespoons dried basil
1 tablespoon dried marjoram
1/2 tablespoon dried thyme
2 large cloves crushed cloves
2 tablespoons white sugar
2 tablespoons honey
salt and pepper to taste
Heat oil in an 8x8 inch dish. Grease an over-plated baking sheet with butter or margarine.
Puree onion, basil, marjoram, cumin and white vinegar in a medium bowl. Finely chop garlic.
Combine the onion, basil, marjoram, orange juice, cloves of packed garlic, sugar, honey, salt and pepper. Stir well and simmer for 2 hours or until sauce is thickened and spices are hot.
