Apple Brownies Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, melted

1 (18 ounce) package white cake mix

2 1/2 cups packed brown sugar

1 (3.5 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix

1 (14 ounce) can apple pie filling

1 cup golden raisins

1/2 tablespoon almond extract

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1 pound semisweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 8 inch squares pan. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and creamy. Stir in the pudding mix and apple pie filling. Beat in the golden raisins and almond extracts. Beat in the flour. Stir in the chocolate chips, then blend in the vanilla. Press the mixture into the prepared 11x7 inch pan. Dust with coarse sugar with a fork.

Pour filling into prepared pan. Spread a layer of brown sugar over the top of the brown sugar layer, and spread into the bottom of the pan. Sprinkle with chopped walnuts. Pour filling over the filling layer.

Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
