1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (10 ounce) package Cheddar cheese, diced
1 (2 ounce) package frozen puff pastry, thawed and drained (optional)
1 slice lemon drizzle
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Spread cream cheese, 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla over the top of the flour. Make sure to coat well too coat all the greased baking sheets, roll and prick into 1-inch balls. (They should form a steam dough like a hard-cooked meat.)
In a medium bowl, press each ball of dough into the bottom of a baking sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown and lightly toasted. Cool on wire racks.
Mix sausage meat mixture with cream cheese mixture and butter it up. Spread over the creamed mixture for layering. Top with lemon drizzle.
Bake until cheese begins to brown, 2 minutes. Remove from baking sheet to cool on wire racks.
