1 cup margarine
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 (0.8 ounce) bars chocolate-coated chocolate trimmings with striped edges
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
Melt margarine and sugar in large bowl; stir eggs, one at a time, into the margarine mixture. Mix flour, baking powder, and vanilla in separate bowl. Stir in butter or margarine. Fold 1/4 of the flour mixture into egg mixture until moist. Stir in salt and sugar.
Drop corn syrup, about 1 tablespoon at a time, onto cookie sheet. Poke 2/3 cup of dough to about 1/2 teaspoon thickness. Roll cookies 1/2 inch thick. Place 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet. Place side down and dust with remaining margarine/sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet to wire racks. Cool completely. Serve immediately.
