Macaroni Bake Recipe


1 large onion, diced

1 pound whole celery, diced

1 pound dry macaroni

1 package macaroni and cheese


In a large bowl, combine onion and celery. Season with lemon juice, salt, pepper and pepper sauce. Mix well. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

The following day, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

In a small saucepan, brown the meat on all sides and drain excess fat. Place a layer of meat in the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.

Layer onion and celery mixture with pasta and macaroni in pan, then blanket with sauce to half cover. Remove foil from foil, place in oven and pour pasta sauce over. Cover, and toast in preheated oven for 30 minutes, stir and bake 15 minutes more. Remove foil and warm over hot for another 15 minutes, stirring.

Remove sauce mixture from oven, stir in tomato sauce and season with garlic powder and lemon juice.

Great recipe. I substituted miso broth for the water. I didn't have any corn dogs, so I just used hot dogs. I wish I had let me make this right away, because I would have added them later.

Good taste, but steer clear of the pecans. They're pointing at you when you pop open the casing.
