1/2 cup butter, softened
2 ounces buttermilk
3 2/3 cups milk
1/3 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 egg
5 tablespoons white sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and buttermilk. Mix in the milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Beat until well blended. Stir in the egg, pecans, and vanilla. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto the cookie sheet.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool on cookie sheets. Chill in refrigerator for several hours, or overnight.
