1 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
1/2 cup cinnamon sticks
1/2 cup chopped dates
3 cups confectioners' sugar for dusting
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease and flour 8 9-inch pans.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat in the flour mixture until well blended. Stir in the hickory sifted dry crumbs. Cover the batter in the pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Remove from pans and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar to prevent sticking.
