1 1/2 cups water
1/3 cup butter, chilled
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 pound milk
1 onion, diced
1 apple, peeled, cored and sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
In a large saucepan, combine water, butter, flour, milk, onion and apple. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 15 minutes. Sprinkle salt and pepper over chicken.
Remove chicken breasts and place on a serving platter. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
