Chocolate Cheesecake Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened

6 (2 ounce) packages vanilla flavored Jell-O

1 cup boiling water

1 1/2 cups chocolate syrup

1 cup white sugar

2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

In a large bowl, mix butter, gelatin, boiling water and chocolate syrup. Stir until mixture is completely dissolved. Pour into one or the two 9-inch round pans. Chill mixture overnight in refrigerator.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets. Place one layer onto each sheet. Spread 1/2 cup melted chocolate syrup over bottom layer, and sprinkle white sugar over top layer.

Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until brownies spring back when touched. Cool completely, then remove cookie sheets and immediately begin icing on top.

Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine lemon juice and lemon zest, beating until blended. Spread 2 inches from edges of cake to make patties. Cut into squares. Serve with whipped cream or frosting cream shot.
