Orange Cream Cheese Pie III Recipe


1 (9 inch) pie crust, baked

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 cup whole milk

1 egg

2 tablespoons orange juice

2 tablespoons orange zest

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups powdered sugar

2 cups butter, melted

1 cup hickory chips (optional)


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9 inch springform pan.

Place cream cheese and 1 cup milk in a large bowl. Beat to blend thoroughly until smooth; set aside.

In a large bowl, beat egg, orange juice, orange zest, orange zest, and vanilla extract until blended. Stir in sugar. Stir egg mixture into cream cheese mixture until all ingredients are added.

Spread over pie crust, pressing dough firmly into the crust. Do the same with the remaining cream cheese mixture.

Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into center of pie comes out clean. Cool before carefully removing from pan. Cool completely before cutting into squares. Serve with whipped cream and orange cream cheese icing.

This was ok. I might like it more if it was more translucent. It lent a nice fresh aroma & type. Maybe next time I'll leave it in the original container & see what happens.
