Lasagna Sauce With Tomato Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

2 (4 pound) lasagna noodles

1 cup Italian seasoned saltine crackers

1 (8 ounce) package NESTLE'S Orange Cream Cheese Slurpee

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 pound spicy Italian sausage, casings removed

2 (16 ounce) cans citrus maraschino cherries with juice

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons red wine

2 tablespoons diced onion

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1 (1 ounce) ounce garlic powder

1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano pepper

Directions

PLACE the noodles, cream cheese, oil, sausage into a pot. Cover and simmer over low heat for three minutes. Stir to loosen. Add cracker crumbs and toss with the lime juice. Stir 30 seconds more. Increase heat to medium-high. Cook and stir 15 to 20 minutes more, until sausage is evenly browned. Drain excess grease. Drain skillets and grease a 9x13 inch pan. Add the orange juice. Cover, and simmer 7 to 10 minutes."

PREPARE the chicken meat. Place in separate skillet, spraying with vegetable oil, and cook and stir until skin is golden and juices run clear. Drain, and place on a plate.

STIR in orange juice, garlic, wine, maraschino cherries with juice, garlic powder and oregano rinsed. Stir maraschino sauce from side to side but do not add salsa. Top with tomato mixture and spoon over noodles. Toss with cheese sauce.

LAYER sauce over noodles and serve over noodle dish immediately. Serve pasta as is.
