1 (12 ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese
3 1/2 cups boiling water
1 onion, diced
1 carrot, diced
1 egg, beaten
1 small green bell pepper, diced
1 onion, diced
6 slices bacon
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large pot, combine mozzarella cheese, boiling water, onion and carrot. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 1 minute.
Remove from heat; stir in eggs, green pepper, onion and bacon. Mix together well. Cover, and simmer 20 minutes.
Return pot to a boil, and add mozzarella cheese; cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
Return pot to a boil, and add mozzarella cheese. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes, or until cheese is completely melted.
Remove pot from heat; stir in sausage and mushrooms. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes, or until sausage is evenly brown. Sprinkle with bread crumbs and pepper.
Place a slice of bread crumbs on each rack of the baking dish; fold each piece of cheese over the bread crumbs, creating a sandwich.
Bake in oven for 60 minutes.
I really like this recipe. I butterflied my chicken, added garlic and onion powder, and subbed lemon zest for orange zest. Really good and very easy.
