1 1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 tablespoon white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg, beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 1/4 teaspoons lemon zest
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons lemon juice
In a medium saucepan, combine water, sugar, vanilla extract, egg, salt, almond extract, lemon zest, vanilla and lemon juice. Bring mixture to a slow boil. Reduce heat to low. Stir and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring.
