Arroz con Pollo III Recipe


1 pound ground pork sausage

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 (16 ounce) can tomato sauce

1/2 pound saltine crackers

1 (4 ounce) can tomato paste

1 (16 ounce) can tomato paste with green chile peppers

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

The sausage, garlic and tomato sauce are mixed together and can be spread by spoonfuls on a 2 pound pita.

When the mixture is spreadable, fill the bottom and sides of a 9 inch pie dish with cracker crumbs. Then spread the tomato sauce over the crumbs and drizzle with tomato paste. Pour the tomato paste over the top of the crust.

Bake in preheated oven until evenly brown, about 30 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

I followed the recipe exactly except for the garlic which was not included. I could easily overpower the lentils though.

I used fresh minced onions and garlic powder for the dipping sauce. Unsure if it makes a difference in the taste, or if it just isn't for me.

Recommended Collins Serum - I was concerned that the sugar would be too high, but it was perfect. Reminded me of old photographs with honey=braised pork chops. Something I will definitely make again~YUM, YUM, YUM!!!!! Thanks for sharing.
