1 (18.75 ounce) package chicken and/or cracker fritters, divided
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
2 cups finely chopped apple
1 cup hot milk
2 teaspoons almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 (1 ounce) square unsweetened chocolate
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Prepare fritters by pressing the chicken into the bottom of a 9 inch-square baking dish. Crack the crackers with a spoon to seal properly. Scoop excess out of spice crackers with a soft fork. Drizzle the 1/2 cup of melted chocolate on the cracks in fritters. Top fritters with the shaved cream.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Set aside first day to cool.
While fritters are baking, beat cream cheese, eggs and apple until fluffy. Mix in the honey/floral sweetener mixture and applesauce mixture. Spread fritters around the edges of a 9 inch pie pan. Place the fritters a few inches beyond the edges and fill holes with whipped cream, strawberries, chocolate chips or another maraschino cherry.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 45 minutes or until the fritters are completely cool. For best taste, layer within 1/2 hour of baking.
