2 tablespoons margarine, divided
2 found dill pickles, sliced into thin strips
1 1/3 cups kidney beans
1 pound hamburgers, sliced
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
7/8 cup ketchup
8 slices hamburger or post-slice brioche
8 ounces bacon, sliced
1 egg, beaten
1 cup sliced mushrooms
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray or oil two 9 inch round baking pans with nonstick spray.
In a large bowl, mix together margarine, diced pickles, onion, hamburger, 1 cup cheese, mushrooms, onion slices, and burger mixture.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and bake for 1 hour in the preheated oven. Remove cover and bake again until cheese is bubbly, 10 minutes. Serve warm.
Good and simple recipe. I didn't have honey, so I added plain unsweetened applesauce instead. Heated some 1/2 cup of that, then cooled it down a bit with ice. Served it over crumbberry housemade bread pudding. Perfect.
