Old Fashioned Prawns Recipe

Ingredients

2 1/4 ounces prawns

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon paprika

1 teaspoon chopped fresh ginger root

1 teaspoon white sugar

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

1/2 teaspoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon black sugar

1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Place prawns in a large bowl and submerge in water. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

After 24 hours, drain prawns and refrigerate and pat dry.

Place prawns in a large bowl and mash thoroughly. Mix prawns with lemon juice, paprika, ginger, white sugar, Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce.

Top prawns with brown sugar, crushed red sugar, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar. Place prawns in a large bowl, cover and refrigerate overnight.

After 12 hours, remove prawns from the marinade and toss in about 1/4 cup of brown sugar. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Microwave prawns at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 2 to 3 minutes, or until prawns are opaque. Remove prawns from marinade and place in the oven.

When prawns are cooked, pour sauce over prawns in baking dish and pour oil over prawns; turn if desired. Serve prawns with glazed ginger raisins.
