1 pound extra-firm shrimp steaks
1 pound extra-firm shrimp steaks, peeled and deveined
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1 large onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
1 (16 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, undrained
Place the shrimp steaks in a steamer or large pot and cover with water to just cover. Place steamer over medium-high heat, and add the orange juice, 1/2 cup water, and 1 teaspoon salt. Stir together.
Cover, and steam for 1 minute. Put steamer over medium heat and add the shrimp and mushrooms. Heat for 5 minutes, and stir in the onion, garlic powder, oregano, basil, rosemary and tomatoes. Reduce steamer to medium heat and cook for 10 minutes.
