1/2 cup margarine, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup white sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups cooked banana
3/4 cup chocolate syrup
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x9 inch pan.
In a large bowl, cream together margarine, butter, sugar and eggs. Mix in vanilla, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Beat until blended. Gradually mix in the flour mixture, beating until well blended.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Cool completely and serve warm.
Chocolate syrup: Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add banana and banana puree; boil, stirring constantly, for 3 minutes. Add chocolate syrup and puree. Simmer, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Serve warm or cold.
