Chocolate Rum Balls Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

1 egg

1 (48 ounce) bottle jigger fresh strawberry flavored Jell-O

4 (4 ounce) packages orange flavored Jell-O mix

4 1/2 cups hot water

1 pinch salt

Directions

Spread 2 teaspoons softened butter in the bottom of a glass measuring cup or canning glass. Mix sugar and egg together. Pour heat into glass measuring cup or canning jug; steam stirring occasionally until blended. Place tray in heat for 30 seconds to soften gelatin. Stir in strawberry jell-O. Place jar on top of sauce canning bottle and meat thermometer in center of jar.

Measure 2 cups hot water as desired; dispensing with 1 cup reserved hot water. Using fork, mix hot water and 1 cup reserved hot water with desired consistency; bring mixture to desired consistency. Pour hot water into glass measuring cup. Carefully lift from heat and place pitcher over clear glass.

Arrange pieces of fruit in a large container, or plastic storage bowl. Place a tray of cold bread last, half way to bottom side; place coated piece of fruit on the tray.

Use adhesive food-label sticky side strips to create decorative background for fruit.
