Warm Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1 cup packed light yellow sugar

1 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1 tablespoon cocoa powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chocolate syrup

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup light brown sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon lemon zest

1 cup sweetened dark chocolate syrup

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two 9 inch round cakes pans.

Sift together the brown sugar, light yellow sugar, brown sugar, cocoa, vanilla, chocolate syrup and flour to form a dough.

On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 6 inch square. Cut the squares into 1/4 inch strips. Cut the strips into half. Slice each strip into one half. When the strips are all cut, place them on top of one another in the prepared pans.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove foil and remove from pans. Let cool before filling.
