1 pound ground beef
2 large onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter
3 tablespoons white sugar
3 1/2 pounds whole wheat flour
3 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine beef, onion, butter and sugar and mix well, using a fork. Transfer mixture to a large bowl, and stir in flour, salt, oil, and bread cubes. Mix well. Pour into a large shallow baking dish or casserole dish, and sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes; reduce the oven temperature to 275 degrees F (135 degrees C), and continue baking 40 minutes, until all ingredients are well browned and heated through, and lightly toasted.
