1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 egg
1 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In a blender, mix sour cream, sugar, butter and vanilla. Blend briefly, and pour mixture into a large plastic bowl. Transfer to a bowl; cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to let flavors blend.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) pans.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and egg. Set aside.
Stir the milk, 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar into the flour mixture. Stir in the vanilla and flour mixture alternately with the milk and butter mixture. Fold batter into the cheesecake layer.
Beat together the cream cheese and margarine. Beat into the cream cheese mixture until well blended.
To assemble: Place cream cheese mixture in the bottom of a large serving bowl. Spread 1/2 cup of the sour cream mixture over cream cheese. Fold cream cheese over cream cheese layer. Spread remaining sour cream mixture over cream cheese layer. Sprinkle remaining 1/2 cup sugar over cream cheese layer. Place remaining sour cream mixture over cream cheese layer.
Remove cheese from cheesecake and place on a serving platter. Place remaining 1/2 cup sugar over cream cheese layer and creaming spoon. Spread orange syrup over cream cheese layer. Spread cream cheese mixture over cream cheese layer.
Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.
